With over 30 Nollywood acting credits, Angel has come to stay in the Nigerian film industry. She played Fuwe in Three Thieves, written by Sammy Egbemawei, Abba Makama, and Africa Ukoh.

Early Life
Angel Unigwe was born Divine-Angel Onyinyechi Unigwe on 27 June 2005 in Lagos, Nigeria, into a family of five children.
Unigwe’s mother, Juliet Ifechi Unigwe, aka Juliet Kings, is a talent manager and CEO of Da Priceless Jewelz Collectibles. She significantly influenced Unigwe’s childhood and venture into the entertainment industry.
Her mother introduced her to the industry at a young age, and she made her first appearance in a film in 2015.
Angel has four siblings, including a brother, Prince Chibuchi Unigwe, and three sisters, Princess Chizy Unigwe, Chimamanda Unigwe, and Sharon Praise Unigwe.
Career
Acting
Angel Unigwe joined the film and movie industry as a child actor. She debuted in 2015 with a role in the Nigerian television series Alison’s Stand. She has since played many roles in over 30 Nollywood films.
Among her acting credits are the roles Zoey in the 2021 film Stay at Home Dad, Mira in Basket Case, Didi in Tender Lies, and Cecilia in The Wildflower. She also appeared in Woe Man, Middle of Nowhere, Light in the Dark, Ten Years Married: Mirage, Ajoche, and King of Boys.
Recently, Unigwe has entertained viewers of Nollywood movies with unmatched talent. She starred as Kosi in The Olive from 2021 to 2023, played Adaeze in the 2023 movie Daddy’s Duty, and Young Tiwa in the 2023 movie Twin Flame.
Before these recent displays of talent, Unigwe had already cemented her name with an unmatched display of talent.
Unigwe played the starring role of Adaeze in a movie directed by Ekene Som Mekwunye, Light In The Dark, released on 25 January 2018. The film featured Nollywood legends Joke Silva, Rita Dominic, Kalu Ikeagwu, Ngozi Nwosu, and Saidi Balogun.
Unigwe has also appeared in productions such as Code Wilo, Mute, Bereaved: Pains of Aliyah, My Siblings and I, Nigerian Trade, and City Crimes. She appeared in the blockbuster 2019 film Three Thieves as Fuwe.
In 2024, Unigwe appeared in the film Angel In My Heart, available on the streaming platform YouTube in October. She also appeared in Friends for Hire, Bad Mother, Bad Child, My Love Diary, The Sad Tale of Mabel, Faithful Husband, and Boundless Love.
Modeling
Acting is not the only talent the Unigwe has under her sleeve. She does modeling and influencing on social media. She is a formidable force with over 616,000 followers on Instagram, where she posts modeling and upcoming projects.
Nominations and awards
With much work comes much more rewards. Unigwe has made it as a multiple-award-winning actress who boasts many nominations. She bagged the Child Actor of the Year 2019 at the Intellects Giant Award and Best Young/Promising Actor at the 2019 Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Unigwe won the Best Child Actress in a Movie at the 2021 Best of Nollywood award. She bagged the 2023 Trailblazer Award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards on 23 May.
A scandal involving Kanayo O Kanayo
Veteran Nigerian actor Kanayo O Kanayo called out Angel Unigwe and her mother in a viral video post, accusing them of breaching contracts and holding producers to ransom in June 2024.
Kanayo went on to reveal his intentions to disrupt any movie production featuring Unigwe. He further gave producers strict warnings against employing the teen actress.
In a statement through her mother, Unigwe described Kanayois allegations as baseless falsehoods. Her mother further stated that their lawyers were now aware.
Personal Life
Angel Unigwe is currently single. Her brother, Prince Chibuchi Unigwe, is also an actor and influencer. He has appeared in many productions, including The Order of Things, Her Dark Past, and Jay Jay: The Chosen One.
